Intensive Inpatient Substance Abuse Rehabilitation
The goal of our program is to prepare our clients to make a healthy transition back to “the real world” with a balanced recovery. We address the harm caused by addiction - physical, behavioural, and psychological. We do this by educating on the vulnerabilities that lead to addiction and balancing emotional well being, physical health and life skills. We strongly recommend ongoing emotional sobriety through the Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous / Narcotics Anonymous/Gamblers Anonymous.
Physical Health
Physical health is gained through a detoxification referral when required, diet and physical activity. Our clients are mentored by former AFL player Gavin Crosisca. Team sports are encouraged to foster a deeper sense of belonging and mate-ship with a common goal of a natural high and reward. Yoga is practiced to provide an opportunity to release stress, reduce anxiety and to improve flexibility and strength. Yoga is recognized as a form of meditative practice that can help handle any stressors that arise during the day.
Behavioural Health
Behavioural issues are addressed through our groups and homework to reinforce learning. Secondly, through accountability for behavior, respecting our rules and guidelines and maintaining an understanding of the vulnerabilities in behavior that may lead to relapse. We utilize community groups and awareness as a means of accountability to the rules and guidelines of the program, and family involvement to support a positive recovery for all.
Psychological Health
Our clinical team are on hand to assist clients to work through psychological issues. When required referrals are made into the community to access other health professionals that we work closely with. EG: for psychiatric assessment and medication reviews. Our staff members utilize Interventions to prevent a lapse and assist in healthier decision making. Our Intensive Inpatient program and client interventions are based on the evaluated work of Dr Patrick Carnes and Dr Kevin McCauley to promote long term recovery. Our clients and their family members are better able to understand addiction as a disease and with these insights are immersed in 12 Step programs to gain long term recovery.
