Jana Wirkus
Jana - Counsellor & Integrative Psychotherapist
I’m a PACFA-registered integrative psychotherapist with a background in trauma-informed care, addiction recovery, and neurodivergent wellbeing. I bring a warm, grounded, and relational approach to my work, supporting inquirers to cultivate a sense of safety in their bodies, raise the level of self-awareness, and co-create self-agency in their recovery journeys.
As an integrative psychotherapist, my practice is informed by many modalities that address the whole individual and the systems they are a part of. I pay close attention to the body and nervous system as essential parts of healing. Further, I support inquirers in developing regulation strategies, exploring their inner worlds and parts of their internal family system, and formulate a new way of being with them in collaboration that is paced, respectful, and empowering.
Since April 2025, I’ve been working as a psychotherapist at Sober Living Rehab, offering both individual support and group therapy. My previous experience includes therapeutic work in disability and mental health settings, where I worked with a range of presentations including complex PTSD, codependency, shame, addictive behaviours like pornography and sex addiction and attachment trauma. I have a particular interest in organisation of mind and am supporting inquirers to connect more deeply with their values, bodies, boundaries, and self-agency.
